In the Merry Monk kitchen the chefs cook inspired, relaxed dishes with fresh flavours sourced from great local produce using meat and fish of exceptional quality.

When I bought the Merry Monk in 2002 it was a run down public house and I have sensitively refurbished it, retaining period features such as sash windows and oak beams.

My passion for food however has not diminished and if you can't see me on the floor it's a good bet I'll be found in the kitchen. To be able to then get feedback first hand has really helped inspire both me and our team of chefs to insist on only the best products, prepared to the highest standards, and to always push this as a major driving force in my business.

Private Dining

We are able to offer our guests various dining options.

The restaurant can accommodate up to 60 people in 3 separate rooms for either lunch or dinner providing a hugely atmospheric space. We also have 2 separate areas which can be used for small individual parties of 8 to 10.

We are now open at lunch times except Mondays. Week day Lunch Menu from 11.45 to 13.45. We close at 3pm.
